About Me

A Sunday Family Affair

At my household, Sundays are a hectic time for meal preparation. After leaving our place of worship, my husband and I usually don’t have time to cook Sunday lunch. Therefore, we’ve started a Sunday family tradition. We travel to a local restaurant that serves an extensive buffet on this day of the week. Some of the eatery’s weekly offerings include roast beef, turkey, fried chicken, ham, butter beans, mashed potatoes, homemade dressing, macaroni and cheese, and too many other items to remember. In addition to meats, vegetables, breads, and salads, patrons can help themselves to delectable desserts as well. After eating this monumental feast, my husband and I don’t usually get hungry for the rest of the day. On this blog, you will learn the advantages of visiting a favorite restaurant with your family on Sundays. Enjoy!

New City? Visit A Local Coffee Shop

When you're in a new town or city, it can take a while to get acquainted with the different businesses there and all of the things to see and do. You may visit a few museums, eat dinner at a well-known restaurant, and maybe even join a club or two in an effort to get to know the area better. One other thing you should consider doing as you adapt to the new place is visiting a local coffee shop. In fact, visiting regularly—several times per week—is a very good idea. Here are a few ways in which visiting a local coffee shop can help you in a new city.

You'll get acquainted with the local food trends

Coffee shops tend to be some of the trendiest eateries. New food culture often permeates the coffee shop before it trickles over to other restaurants and venues. So, when you visit a coffee shop, you get a good overall idea of the city's food scene. If the coffee shop has a lot of really modern, minimalist offerings, this suggests the rest of the city's food scene may be headed that way. If the coffee shop has a lot of heavier, heartier pastries and drinks, that suggests a different vibe throughout the rest of the city. Every restaurant will be different of course, but within cities, the food scene does tend to adopt a certain "flavor," that its coffee shops generally reflect.

You may discover some other local eateries

Coffee shops often source their coffee from a coffee roaster, assuming they don't roast in-house. So, visiting will get you acquainted with that business. These shops also often buy pastries or bread from a local bakery, so that's another business you'll discover. You can add these to your list of places to seek out later, which gives you more to do in your city.

You can chat with locals and make friends

Coffee shops are places where people tend to be social and in a good mood. If you see someone sitting alone, you should feel comfortable approaching them and starting a conversation. If you like the drink that the person ahead of you in line orders, you can tell them so. Some of these conversations won't go very far, but others may develop into friendships, which you often need in a new city.

Visiting a new coffee shop can be one of the most rewarding things you do in a new place. Visit a local coffee shop to learn more.
